K-7

WEll after my oldest got done with swimming lessons last night we headed out to K-7 for some fishing action. I was hoping the fish would cooperate as all that mattered to me was he was catching fish and having fun. I left my rod at home so all attention was on him.

To say the fish were cooperative would be a severe understatement. More or less it resulted in a hit every cast. A minimite about 18″ below a float tipped with a Powerbait Crappie Niblet and you were pretty much guaranteed action. As those of you have fished it know the fish run heavy on the small side, but if you have kids and your simply looking for action and a fun time this is a great place to go. Another big plus about the lake besides the action, there is basically no place for a kid to get hung up casting. No trees, weeds, etc. Makes it a lot less stressful experience. It was my first time there and I came away quite impressed.

Just one word of warning to those of you that venture out now during the summer months. Make sure you do a tick check after you get done. I found 2 of them on me and 1 on my son when we got home.

I took a total of 15 tics off myself and my 2 kids after a trip to K-7. I was shocked!! 12 them were my 6 yo. Only 2 were attatched. I thinks they must be more attracted to some people over others. He is the same way with skeeters… Great fishing for the kids though.

Man there is nothing like a little quality family time picking wood ticks, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha. Do you have a dog? They are worth another 20 or 30 more. Spring time is a fun time.

got this in an e-mail yesterday thought i applies here
    TICK WARNING!
I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times…but this one is real, and it’s important so please send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list:

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks due to the warming weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!! IT IS A SCAM!!

They only want to see you naked …I wish I’d gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.
