For you guys who are going to be fishing a Southern Minnesota Lake for the Walleye Opener which lake are you going to be fishing on? What will be your techniques used to catch your eyes?
    Thanks, Bill

My plans are to be on ”Lake” Pepin [ ] and trolling, 3-waying and maybe even dragging to catch some eyes this weekend. If you happen to be doing the same and run across a white Alumacraft 175 Navigator be sure and wave and say hi. Hope to see you on the water and look forward to hearing about where you are going and how you did when you get back. Don’t forget to stop at HOF to make sure you have all the tackle and live bait you need. Its a GREAT place to get your fishing items at. Great goods, great bait, and great service. And don’t forget to pick up your new HOF decal for your boat and truck/car. They are VERY sharp looking decals.
    Thanks, Bill

Still planning on fishing Madison lake. Not real sure as to what we are going to be using but I’m sure I will come up with something. Any help out there would be appreciated!

My first plan was to hit Pepin on Saturday but now I have Albert Lea Lake in the back of my head after seeing a few of them fish ice fishing this year I have a feeling it will be Pepin since I need a big area to go and break the motor in at or else if all plans fail and I wanna stay close plan to be on Zumbro for my fall back option..Will be out in a dark green Crestliner 1750 fish hawk with the 115 optimax on the back. Squirming like a little kid on the last week of school waiting to go get her this week

Kris..Kris…Kris… what do you mean theres no fish down there? Theres always fish in Pepin.

With the river open to year around walleye fishing we just don’t get excited about the lake opener like we use to. We are spoiled and alot of us have enjoyed the opener so to speak for a long time already by fishing the river. I myself will fish the upper and the middle of the lake for the most part. Yes its still early for the whole lake to be on fire yet but there are fish there to be caught. And no pressure [no zoo] like you find on the lakes at this time of year [opener weekend].
    Thanks, Bill
