Where is everyone fishing this weekend? Granted they are talking some wind today BUT there are always spots you can tuck into where the wind isn’t blowing so it can still be a great day for fishing. This guy is heading for Lake Zumbro very shortly. Looking forward to a nice peacefull day of fishing out of the wind and if I have alot of company in the ”out of the wind spots” then we will talk fishin while we are all fishin. Hope to see you on the water.

    Thanks, Bill

ps. HOF got in some great looking fish catching plastics that are a must in your tackle box [also a must on the end of your line]. He also carries B-Fish-N plastics too if you are headed to Red Wing. Its a ”one stop shop” for your fishin needs. I stopped out there last night after work, but don’t worry, I saved you some goodies.

ps again. HOF also has gotten in some decals of their new logo for your truck and boat. VERY sharp looking decals.

I would bet you could fish just about any water around the area right now & get bit. From what was going on the Zumbro last time out, I would say things are really gettin going!! Can you say FISH ON enough!! NOT
I stopped in at HOF today Bill but spaced my new decals What was I thinking
But I did get the best service that I’ve seen in a long time! You see I broke a HOF anniversary Rod that WASN”T mine last time out. (Never even seen the water) Well it was my cooler that did it! And the Service Was pricless!!!
It truely is A one stop Bait & Tackle Shop!!! Thanks Mike!
I’d also like to thank Mike Smith too!

I’m betting Chesterwoods is probably pretty good right about now along with other bodies of water in the area too as these warm temps keep pushing the water temps up which turn the fishes appetite upward. Should be a very good spring for fishing.
    Thanks, Bill

I’ve never been to Chesterwoods. Are there any shore spots or piers that are decent enough to fish or do you need a canoe/boat?

Yes, there are docks to fish from that are in good locations.

There is a brochure about the park at the station where you enter. I believe they still have a little map of the lake on them that show where the fishing piers are. There are 3 or 4 fishing piers I believe. The park also has a swimming beach and a campground too. Very nice place to take the family for the weekend.
    Thanks, Bill

There is a big fishing pier right by the boat landing. There are then two smaller ones on the left hand side of the boat landing arm. One about half way out and one just as the arm opens into the middle part. Then from that second pier to the swimming beach there are ample areas to fish from shore as well.

Also, if you go on the weekend they have paddleboat and I believe canoe rentals as well. Always a possible option.

There are may countless trails in and around the park, that if you explore a bit you can find some other quality shore fishing opportunities.
    Good luck in your exploration.

I have a tentative gameplan the if all goes according to plan will result in multiple trips. If we can get a sitter for the kids I’m planning to take the wife out on Saturday afternoon/evening. Then my in-laws said they were wanting to fish more this year, so I’m hoping to get them out on Sunday. To top it off I’m hoping to get my 5 year old out either Friday or Monday night.

Nothing for Thursday. Wife has book club so I’ll be pulling double kid patrol.

Working the Lake Pepin Open Walleye Claasic Tournament [LPO] on Pool 4 out of Red Wing this weekend. Might get a chance to fish alittle bit too if all goes well.
    Thanks, Bill
