There have been lots of people fishing it. Still some nice trout being caught. They are taking fathead minnows, power bait, and waxies. Not many trying nightcrawlers yet??????

Not that I’ve heard, but that certainly does not mean they aren’t worth trying.

My trips over there have been with kastmasters, little cleos, countdown rapalas, spinners and sidwinders. The raps and sidewinders have been the producers for me. Gold/orange on everything.

Reports say minnows 2 feet below a bobber are also catching trout too. Let us know how you do.
    Thanks, Bill

I was there this morning for a few casts and saw no less than four people with two lines each. We need a posse over there. Saw one trout caught and had one bump but no bananas for this guys.

No you cannot use 2 rods at Foster Arends or any inland body of water! The confusion may be due to the fact that you can use 2 rods for ice fishing. Open water regulations state that only 1 rod may be used on inland waters, or 2 rods on boundary waters between Minnesota and Wisconsin (the Mississippi River).

Thanks for the report Matt. The problem is that the fishin fixes don’t last very long. The good thing is we enjoy getting them no matter how the bite is. Keep those fishin fix reports coming. And of course, ENJOY them.
    Thanks, Bill

lol i will but i think my next outing will be trout opener and i will let you know how that excursion went and its always fun to get a younger generation out especially when they enjoy it no matter what and it makes me look forward to a couple years from when my sons should be old enough to hold a pole

Passing on the love of fishing is great. Very rewarding and you have fishin partners for life.
    Thanks, Bill

Concerning 2 rods, after fishing on the ice with 2 rods and then fishing on the Mississippi River [pool 4] with 2 rods, I really feel like part of me is missing when only fishing with 1 rods on lakes. It really feels strange. Hopefully someday the DNR will change that rule so we can use 2 rods. When it comes to Fosters a deadstick with a tight line and being able to cast with the rod in our hands would be great. BUT until that day comes that the law/rule changes we will just have to limit ourselves to having fun fishing with one rod only.
    Thanks, Bill
