Will be on pool 7 all weekend. Have a buddy comming from Northern Wi, and he’s never been in a boat in March
March 23, 2007 at 1:53 am #552296Looks like the ramp by Sandy Point is open! Bill, planning to get the jon boat out there?
March 23, 2007 at 2:22 am #552317I wonder where Bill will be
I’ve been thinking that but need to get my river fix! DougMarch 23, 2007 at 2:35 am #552325Quote:

How did you ever guess? Can’t imagine whatever gave you that idea. Open water in this area where a boat can be put in at last. Won’t be long before the other boat needs to see water too so need to hurry up and get a few smaller things done on it that I want done. Spring is here. Start your engines boys.
Wonder if Tyler has made the first trip out on water yet with his new boat? Bet hes getting anxious.
Thanks, BillMarch 23, 2007 at 3:49 am #552357I’ll hit pool 4 in April some but the first time on water will be Lake Zumbro. That way I can still get home and check out the MWC Tournament scoring both Saturday and Sunday as Nate and Richard Young are fishing that Circuit. Let us know how you guys do this weekend.
Who else is hitting open water this weekend or even ice fishin somewhere up north?
Thanks, BillMarch 23, 2007 at 4:01 am #552361Yep Bill, I got her out last Tuesday on Pool 2 for half a day. The boat works great, but the fishing has some improving to do.
I’ll be giving Silver Lake a try on Saturday morning for a few hours followed by a half day on Pool X on Sunday afternoon/evening.

March 23, 2007 at 12:42 pm #552423Great Tyler. Have fun. Rumor has it CT was out at Lake Zumbro and my hopefull launching spot is mostly silted in below the water that ”looks like” to be there. Might have to rethink my weekend plans.
Thanks, BillMarch 24, 2007 at 10:18 pm #552950I drove out to Sandy Point today with my jon boat in tow just for the purpose of seeing how much water was there at the ramp. Now this was just to check the water which meant backing in the boat and then pulling the boat right back out. There was enough water according to my test so far. You will need high rubber boots and a paddle but accessing the lake that way I’m guessing would work with a small boat. I didn’t complete the entire test [go fishing] as I wanted to watch the liveleader board for the MWC Tournament in Spring Valley, Ill. Our water problem here is alot less of a problem they have doen in Spring Valley. They received 2 inches of rain and Chicago received 3 inches of rain which washed right down river to them and it flooded bigtime. The two day tournament was changed to a 7 hour tournament today [Sat. only] and only 4 fish were caught between 196 teams fishing. Now we are talking Pros here yet a 2.71 lb fish won $60,000 for 1st place. Nate said they passed a refrigerator that was floating downstream [floating with the help of alot of fast current] as they were running to their fishing spot after take off. The river flooded bigtime and there was fear of not being able to find the boat ramp if they fished both days so they changed it to a seven hour tournament instead of cancelling it as alot of guys had alot of money spent on being down there all week prefishing. Bright side is he finished 5th place in the standings. [along with 191 other teams though]
Bright side of towing the boat besides getting my questions half way answered about Sandy Point was that the boat went to the car wash as it was filthy after sitting all winter.
Thanks, Bill
