Thats right. No I haven’t misplaced my mind. [lost it years ago anyway, ] This is the only time you are going to hear me cheer for rain. The rain along with these warm temps will get rid of ice. And that means open water. Add alittle wind and the ice will rock-n-roll into smaller ice cubes and melt. Did I say OPEN WATER?!!!!! And the rain is suppose to come tonight, Wednesday and Wednesday night. How about that, not on a weekend. Ok…maybe alittle rain Saturday night…but its sounding good. Did I say good…how about real good…how about GREAT!!!!!!!!!

Now, lets start talkin open water. Yes, OPEN WATER. Where are you dreaming of spending your first few days on open water? What are you going to fish for? If its walleyes theres the open water right now on pool 4 at Red Wing. [Ok Briank theres cats too]. If its lakes you want then theres crappies and bullgills to catch. Time to get that boat ready if its not already. Time to think about getting it on the water and checking everything out to make sure its working. Time to put in ALOT of hours fishin for crappies/bullgills while you are waiting for the Walleye Opener. Time to share. Time to post. Time to reply. Time to GO FISHIN! So….. LETS TALK FISHIN!!!
    Thanks, Bill

Opps…I just think I just figured out what that smell was in the kitchen I smelled. Theres an old container of crawlers in there still I bet. Can I trade it in for a new container as these ones must be dead by now. Wonder how good my old wax worms are too. Thats the problem with no wife. Theres nobody to keep moving the old gone bad bait out to make room for the fresh new bait. Sure hope those two bait containers in my jon boat are empty. Naw…couldn’t be minnows in there Naw…

Got live bait? I gotta need for some.
    Thanks, Bill

Latest report says its open past the point at Fishermans Inn a ways on the other side. The problem at the moment is that the ice needs to melt in the bay where the boat ramp is. I will probably drive down there tomorrow after work to check it out. Am also getting, really I’ve been VERY anxious, for along time to get out there and wet a line. Jon boats in the drive and I just need to charge the trolling motor battery up and shes ready to go. Other boat is almost ready for what all I want to complete on it. This rain thats coming along with the wind we have should beat up the ice pretty good. Theres still alot of ice left on the lake but is going to come to an end soon. Our temps in the 50s sure helps too. What kind of boat do you have? Are you going to be at the fishing events/get togethers on Thursday nights starting April 12th?
    Thanks, Bill
