Yesterday……put the ice fishing gear in the shed after drying out the 1060…..son’s wrestling season ended yesterday pretty much, and we came home and emptied the truck from the ice fishing season….drove the lonely drive past cabela’s on our way to the Nike outlet….gave it a fond wave on the way by…..

ice fishing no more….this year for me……sighhhhhh

I’m with ya big D..its tough. I put up the buckets in the BACK of the garage tonight and wired the Lx-3 up on my boat. Don’t know what I’m going to do with the frabil yet..there just isn’t room in the garage for stoarage so IDK yet. However, Its been a long winter, TOO long IMO. I’m ready to get the boat out chasing bass next weekend

Good luck on open water everyone!

Lale of the Woods! I just got back and it was some of the best fishing I have had on the lake. We all came home with our limit of Walleyes and some Saguer. It is a long drive but we brought 4 HOGS through the ice and had 5 more to the ice that didn’t see the light. All were from 23-27 inches long. I am hoping I can go back up yet this year.

The sooner it melts the sooner we will have new ice to explore in much less than a year. Enjoy the comming warmth of spring and hang in there. Die hard ice anglers like you make me proud to be from MN.

I don’t see how you and Nate ever survived together in one classroom then. Hes open water all the way. [99% anyway].

    Thanks, Bill

Back then I was coaching 3 sports, didn’t have time for my passion, didn’t talk much about it….nowwwwwwwwww however…i dream about the ice…..back to my roots (and a lot of money in the shed to prove it….wife has been very understanding the past 2 years with my purchases…God bless her)

    Hey D,

I love ice fishing too, but when we get to this time of the year – well, bring on the open water! I’m really looking forward to getting out in the boat on Zumbro or fishing the backwaters from shore. We’ve got some great fishing just ahead of us!

I would probably be more excited had I had a boat…haven’t had one since I lived up on the big V…may have to do some trading to get on the water (cash ain’t happening right now)

Thats right, because all those days he was…um…sick….you knew where he ”really” was. So did I after all my fishing buddies kept telling me they kept seeing my tow vehicle parked at Colvil Park in Red Wing with a trailer behind it and it sure wasn’t me who drove it there. He was real good at forging my signature on time off slips from school.
    Thanks, Bill

    Big D

Boats are for duck hunting, hopefully I can get one more day of “real fishing” in this spring.

If you hide in the back of youre neighbor’s truck, you might find yourself on Leech this weekend
