    Thanks for the pic Bill!

I just wasn’t in the cards for me this year. Ended up coming down with a cold on Saturday.

Looks like I missed out on some good fishing, good people and great prizes!

A group pic. Some people left before we could get a group pic taken. Crappie Tom snuck away early to go to his grandsons basketball game. Thanks everyone for coming. Great to see you all. And Thank You sponsors for all the very nice prizes you provided for everone. The anglers who didn’t win a prize still got lucky as they were given new filet knifes from Hooked On Fishing in Rochester. Thanks for everything Mike [HOF] as this wouldn’t of happened without you and your generous donations and hard work. I also want to say thanks to all who helped to put this event on. Your help and friendship is very much appreciated. We are blessed with alot of good people who love to fish in this area and was great seeing you all. Even Ice John and his son made it up from Iowa again. Thanks everyone.

    Thanks, Bill

Thanks to Mike, Dan, Doug, and Bill and all the sponsors who donated prizes. What a FUN day to just hang out on the ice and show those green carp guys that anybody can catch those things.

Great job Bill and Doug (I was hoping that picture with Mike and Bill in the shack would show up ) I would like to thank all of the sponsors who donated to this G2G. Donations like that not only get your name out there but help make events like this even more fun! Mike made sure that everyone left with a prize today too although the fillet knife that I left with may not be the smartest thing to give a guy like me. The turnout this year was better than last and I know participation will only continue to grow…it was awesome! That being said, here are my top 5 favorite things from this winters G2G.

    1. Seeing Doug, aka MrMuskie, attempt a backflip while reeling in a gill…and then the gill attempt the same backflip after Doug was unsuccessful

    2. Seeing EyeBuster scare a northern to death before he got it thru the hole

    3. Knowing that a bunch of us helped an older gentleman after he attempted to drive a Toyota Camry onto the lake We are great samaritans

    4. The food, prizes, smiles, and laughs that were had by everyone that attended.

    5. Seeing some familiar faces, putting faces to names, and meeting new people all together Good to meet all of ya!

Oh yeah….the fish on the other end of the line were good too.

A big thanks to everyone who came out today!

A special thanks to the businesses that donated some great prizes:

    Jolly Ann Marine

    LaDredge Outdoors

    Al’s Specialty Marine

A very special thanks to the guys that helped pull this off and also donated time, prizes and food:

    Doug Mercer

    Bill Cadwell

    Ron Weltzin

I had a lot of fun today! It was great to see so many people even though the ice and snow made the going a little tough. The fish even cooperated pretty well. The largest gill was an even 9 inches, but we had 5 gills at 8 7/8 inches and many more over the 8 inch mark. Surprisingly there were no crappies caught today. The “other” fish category was won with a 23 1/2 inch catfish, but there were several LM Bass caught up to 18 inches.

Looking forward to doing it again next year!

    Thanks,

    Mike
