Below is some info for this event that Tom has shared with me and I thought you might be interested in attending.

Crappie Tom Lake Zumbro Zinger Event info:

March 10 2007 Fishermans Inn Area Lake Zumbro

This is open to all, without fee. The gathering will take place in the same location as the IDA event, Fishermans Inn public piers. The hours are from anytime after 7:30 until whenever people feel like calling it a day.

There will be grills for those who want to bring some chow to broil and there is a porta-potti on the site for women and childrens convenience.

This is just fun fishing, with meeting some experienced anglers an extra bonus for those who are beginning this wonderful sport. I have always encouraged the novice adult with children to get to this event since it is within close proximity to Rochester, close to shore, close to the necessities and is held at a time when there will likely be a very decent fishery available. Like the ida event that Mike has put together, it is the fishing that gets promoted.

Good clean events, good people….now that’s fishing at its finest.

Bill, remind those guys of the spring hole HOF and I found last year.

Not a big deal for an adult, but a little guy could get wet his feet wet there.

Yep, thats the one Brian got to close to it in my opinion. Best to stay away from the sides of the point and where the flow passes by the tip of the point.
    Thanks, Bill

It was solid ice all around it…enough for a four wheeler to pass directly by…within inches. Just kinda catches your breath when the foot drops in.

We will be monitoring the ice for a couple weeks before the event…actually IDA’S event will be two weeks prior to this one in the same area….and my plan is to flag any suspect ice/open water. Also, if there has been any recent melting, access will be from Fisherman’s parking lot, not the public lot. Safety is #1, sanity second, fishing 3rd.
