CT [Crappie Tom] made the Rochester Post Bulletin newspaper tonight [Thurs.] in the sports section for his annual Backwater Brawl. The temps were super cold last weekend but the event still took place. Dan Theim’s name along with Alex Thorn and his buddy Mitch Kehren were mentioned also in the article written by PB Sports Writer John Weiss. Its nice to see people who are members of this website getting the press that they do. They are all hard core fishermen.
    Thanks, Bill

John is one heck of a sportsperson. The crew that was on the ice on Saturday was a great bunch and John fit right in. With a daytime hi floating around at -7, if i remember right, the Brawl didn’t get as much notice as it has in the past. But there is always next year.

And yes, there was a good number of IDA folks there too. This is something that I have always tried hard to let be known; On the ice we are a common community and have but one agenda. Everyone is welcome. 4 different sites had people there, no one better than the next. Its just about the fishing.

Thanks for the kudos Bill. This is already on the calendar for next year and if the weather and temps cooperate I’d like to have you join in. Like John said oin the paper….it was brutal on last Saturday.

Thanks Tom. That certain weekend is Birthday Party weekend for me as I have a grandson from my oldest daughter in Rochester and a grandaughter from my youngest daughter in Northfield who have their Birthday parties on different days of that weekend. They were both born on Feb 2nd of the same year, same hospital, 2 rooms apart, but since they are seven years old now and go to different schools and have different school friends they can’t do their parties together anymore. And that means one on Saturday and the other on Sunday so family can attend both. Other wise, with better weather, that would be fun. Poontoon is a fun place to fish too. Probably my favorite for ice fishing. It was a very nice article.
    Thanks, Bill

Yeah, great article. Sounded like fun, COLD, but fun.
Now Tom has celebrity status and will be signing autographs.

The ink in my pen hasn’t thawed out yet.
