I know this body of water is always in controversy, but thought I’d give an update of what I saw out there this past summer before anyone thought of heading out there this winter. I did some dirt road cycling on the road out there and there is now No Parking signs posted probably a good 1/2 mile in each direction of the small feeder creek everyone used for access. One is either gonna have to make a long trek or get dropped off. This is probably the best way to deter people from fishing.

What about the lot for the WMA I thought that it was within walking distance.

Not a problem Eric. Personally I find too much other water to fish where nobody is going to be following me with the ticket book. Like the nails in the parking lot that got reported late last winter. Was it a landowner from the area or a person simply wanting to make the landowners look bad? In my book it is off limits and anyone with a fishing pole out there is only giving the ones [anglers] who respect the wishes of the township a black eye. I love to fish, but I am not going to try and re-interpret the law to do so. The only ones who are hurting the process of getting that reservoir opened up a bit are those who continually, knowingly, break the law and fish there. There is too much water around here to have to fish there and become an addition to the problem.

Excellent point Tom. This is the main reason I’ve never tried to access this body. So may opportunities to fish around Rochester without having to deal with this controversial pond.
