Went to one of the small streams in my neck of the county yesterday about 11.00 – hoping to get in a hours worth – but I waited to many days to so….every spot I checked had a layer of ice.

Yep, 14 degrees this morning! Got about an inch of ice on my backyard pond. Looking like we may have an early start to ice fishing this year. Bring it on!

Had a blast fishing both Sat and Sunday this weekend and I can hardly wait to get back out there on the water. Wish I never would of come off the water today. Man, I LOVE open water fishing on Lake Zumbro. Theres so many different spieces of fish to fish for and its so close to home. This fishery sure has changed for the better and it keeps a guy wanting to come back. 
This coming winter better be a short one.
