Here are a couple pictures of Dan Theim with a nice musky he caught in the Zumbro River. It was caught in 2 fow on a Poe’s Giant Jackpot lure. Measured 46 inches long and released to fight again another day.

Great fish! I know where there are potentially some fish like that on the ‘ol Zum…although my spots could use a canoe and it looks like you are on shore. Don’t know if I’d want to hook into that fish in a canoe. That river has some 50’s in it….too bad they are hard to find up top Nice work maestro!

Thanks! It truley is a one in a thousand casts. I have been going to the river twice a week or more. I saw some nice ones this year floating the river. I knew if I just kept after them I’d hook one. This fish boiled at my plug three times on the same retrieve. Only on the 3rd time my lure wasn’t floating on the surface any longer. That’s when I set the hook. Only got one of the trebles stuck and it was only a single hook on that treble that was buried in the upper jaw. Really green when I got it to shore making it difficult to hold for the picture. I was by my self so having the camera out and mounted on the tri-pod before I started fishing helped. Also, having the hook remover pliers ready first was a good idea.

Definatley back in the river to fight again. Maybe next October it’ll be a 50″er. Ha ha!
