I did the Zumbro this morning with some pretty decent success.

The fish were very deep and relating to bottom rubble/wood. Anything less than 22 feet and there were no fish to play with.

Jigging spoons [Scenic’s Go Devils, 1/16] were the ticket today when tipped with either a finesse plastic or a waxie….it really didn’r matter and the hits were very solid. Diamond jigs, Ju-Jus and Frosty jigs all worked well to tipped like-wise. Purple spade-tail Lindy plastics were what I found to be hit the best in the plastic. Regardless of what I used, I had to be within a foot of bottom.

Both kinds of crappies, sunfish, white bass, largemouth and perch all hit these offerings. Crappies went to almost 13 inches while the sunnies topped outat 10.5″ or so. The action was non-stop for well over two hours in one area and the high-banks offered up some dandy action too.

Water temped out at 42 degrees….definitely not swimming water anymore. But the fishing was great. The eagle thought so too.

Thanks for the report Tom. Thats exactly what I’m finding for depths too. Gotta be deep. And mixed species to top it off. What a great time to be on the water.
    Thanks, Bill
