I haven’t been fishing them so I know I have no say but would you guys attract more guys if they were on Saturday mornings instead? Sundays are Church day and Family day for alot of people. Just a thought.
    Thanks, Bill

Bill i couldn’t argee with you more. I have been hounding Eric about it all season and he has been very patient with me. I believe he is going to see what he can do. Thanks eric.

Traditions can be tough to break however, this tourney has been going on for a long time it sounds and this might be tough to change.

    Like dad always said——-
Better to go fishing and think about God—–
Than go to Church and think about fishing!!!!!!!!!
    Just kidding of course.

Brad, It looks like we need to gun down ole’ Coyote223. He finally gets in the money and his head has swollen. Beginners luck is all. In fact his wife called and said I have to come up and give him a ride to work because his head swelled up so much he coulldn’t get in his truck. He had to ride in the bed of the truck.

Brad, he’s going to need more then the “force”!! . He’ll be riding solo sunday, so you know he’ll be totally lost(without Jimmer). Have a good time at the river. Greg

Well, this morning the anglers put their money where the mouth is and here is the results.

    1st Chris Fritch & Chris Nelson 10-11
    2nd Eric Ronningen 9-09
    3rd Chuck Campbell 9-08

Big bass was taken by Chuck Campbell with a 4-13ish largemouth.

There was 3 or so nice bass weighed in over 3 pounds. We had some sprinkles and cloud cover.

I spoke a couple more “regular” guys in private. They both basically asked how many people want it to go to sat. vs. sundays. I didn’t have an anwser really. The point theymade was most of the guys that have been coming out on sundays have had to adjust or work out their scedule with their signifigant others over the years. To just up and change it now for a couple people is pretty hard I guess.

    Sunday morning tournament results. 9-10-06

1st Kenny Stock and son 9-04
    2nd Eric Ronningen & Jim Kostroski 8-14
    3rd Gene ? & Jerrie Eckholdt 7-??

    Big bass ER & Jim K 3-11

There was many more fish weighed than what I would have guessed. I thought that with the cold front or at least the cooler conditions (change)it was going to be pretty tough. But it was pretty average. A little slower than average. I personally caught quite a few northerns. Many more than normal. I had a huge one on too. Just a guess but I would say confidently around 15-20 pounder. He hit a buzz bait in about 2 fow when I only had about 15 feet of line out. I could have landed him easily except he made a run and got the line in the trolling motor before I could pick it up.
We had 11 boats. Yet another good turn out.

We finished 5th (I think) with 6-14. We caught most of our fish on Swim Jigs. Had bigger fish deeper last week, but they were no where to be found this week.

Our catch followed Eric’s thoughts…. VERY few fish for us. 6 keepers total and maybe only 4 other short fish. We also caught more northerns this week than last.

I hate to toot my own horn but nobody else was there this morning to report the results except Coyote223 and he is probably still sore from yet another kicking.

    9-17-06 Sunday morning tournament results

    1st Eric R and Jim K.
    2nd Dan Kruger and son
    3rd ??

    BB ER & JK

The weights were way down as well as the catches. This week and from now on we are forced to only weigh largemouth as the smallmouth season has closed on inland waters. That fact combined with the overnight storms and the cold front stuation made for a really tough bite. We were only able to catch 4 keeper largemouth. 2nd place had three keepers.
Coyote223, remember, I have a team supreme tourney to fish in LAX next weekend. Why don’t you hold the money for me and also post some results. Basically carry your weight around here.

Consistency is the key for the long run and will pay. If there was a larger money tourney out there I’d have to do a little more homework to yank some bigger fish out.
I just have learned how to get a limit there and then some. Alot of the time that gets a guy in the ball park.

No I skipped out, had the Fall Parade of homes!! So I’m not sure what happened. I did see Jerry on the way back from the Zumbro @ 11:25 which seemed alittle early.

I got the scoop on the tourney last sunday morning. It took only two bass two pull off the win. I belive they had two bass for around 3.5 pounds and that includes the bag.
The winners were Trevor Hockert (loyal employee) and Chris Fritch. (I think)
Anyways, hows that for a tough bite. I was thinking of you guys as I was pulling fish after fish out of the river.
We’ll see you guys next sunday.

Mike [HOF] and I were down there last Sunday fishing for crappies and I think we only saw one bass boat. Made us wonder if the tourney took place. Thanks for the update Eric.
    Thanks, Bill
