For what its worth, the white bass seem to be getting schooled up and really chasing pretty good. I didn’t target them but did catch a handful by accident. Down by the dam and in Ryans bay was where we saw the most.

Biggest one we caught went 1 1/2 pounds but he was the odd ball out as to most i am sure were around half a pound. so no. nothing like those big miss white bass. However there are some tanks in there. The question i have is does anybody know why they are schooling up. Is this a seasonal thing will it happen every year or are conditions right. Just curious. ike

    Ike,

I think it is a seasonal thing with the white bass, that starts to happen during the late summer/fall months. I was out a few times during the Fall last year and they seemed to be everywhere. You fish the same areas in the Spring/early summer and they are rarely found.

Like Andy said it happens every year in August and Sept. Great fun bite.
    Thanks, Bill

Just an update. They seemed to be even more whities going tonight. Caught them everywhere too. Any kind of moving bait will work. Crankbaits, spinners, $%&*#, @#^!, %!@@#, and &^*%$#. Just go pull them out of there.
