Despite the heat, I thought the annual IDA GTG at Everts was a huge success. Special thanks for James pulling it all together and the many volunteers that were right there to help. Ah the food was delicious, especially the freshly caught Walleye fish fry. I am still full today.
Was really neat to meet and put faces with names. Great bunch of guys and all fishing pros in their own right.
I would really like to thank one indivudual, whose name unfortuantely I forgot to get. I was talking with Mike and Bill about my new Okuma baitcaster and the back lash problems I was having. Mike pointed over to another picnic table at a guy sitting there and said you need to talk to him. Young guy that uses bastcasters on a regular basis. Explained to him my constant birds nests after casting. Well this gentlemen took several minutes to run over some of the finer details, how to cast and when to thumb the spool and when not to. Came home, stood on my deck and did exactly what his fellow recommended. Could not believe it, lost close to 90% of those nasty back lashes. Thank you sir.
So it was not only a fun time, good food and great people but also managed to get educated.
