I spent Sunday exploring the Zumbro River up above the old Sandy Point in the jon boat which is an area I haven’t been on since Nate was in grade school [many years]. And this time I went up farther than I have in the past and was pleasantly surprised. After getting through an area that has very shallow water I found 5-12 feet of water going up river for aways. Also saw an area that would be a nice little place for swimming for the kids. Granted the water was dirtier up river but it held fish. This is a stretch of water that best suits jon boats, canoes, and pontoons as they all sit high in the water. Knowing where you are going helps too so you are in the deeper parts of the river while heading upstream. I was able to get up a nice ways til I found only under a foot deep area which ended the journey upward. Only wish I could of gone up around a few more bends as it was alot of fun. Below you will see some pics of a few fish caught and also some boat traffic which surprised me.
    Thanks, Bill

Around the corner there is more sand too on the shoreline.
