TAKFD= Take a kid fishing day.

Got my two nephews and my niece out last night for a little Lake Zumbro fishing extravaganza It was fun to have the kids in the boat again, and the youngest one had never been in a boat before

We started trying to hit some sunfish in some shallow timber/weeds on the south side so they could watch the waterskiers, but the wakes soon chased us downriver.

We ended up fishing the same timber/weeds on the north side closer to the damn and had pretty good luck with some sunfish/bass action there. The youngest nephew picked up a 2lb bass on a ultralight rod and had quite a battle on his hand.

All in all was a nice night to spend some time with family, and just another reason to be on the water

Sorry, forgot the camera at home going to work today, but will put up some pics on Monday.

If anybody was on the lake last night, we were the boat making a big deal out of small sunfish , I think you could have heard us

That is awesome getting the young ones out. I have a 4 1/2 year old I like to take out as well. Makes for great times and great memories.

Sounds like EVERYONE had a great time Brent. Passing along a persons love for fishing is a great joy and seeing them having fun catching fish is very special. I am looking forward to more reports like this and pics so you will have to take them out again. [hint hint ]
    Thanks, Bill

Thanks for the kind words guys. It is a ton of fun getting the kids out there, even if we have to stop halfway through and go play in the water instead of fishing. I hope to have some pictures on Monday and post then.
