Lake Zumbro Update

Nate and I fished Lake Zumbro Thursday night and found the bluegills and crappies in shallow water in bays. The gills were in very shallow water [1 foot to 3 foot] and were caught on Mini Mites. When things slowed down we added a waxie. These were fished under a bobber. After awhile Nate took his bobber off and casted the jig shallow and retrieved it slowly and caught a crappie. I pulled my bobber out towards the boat more and caught a real nice crappie. Things slowed down so we started jigging right next to the boat and bam, more crappies. Even though the water we were in was shallow the spot where we had anchored the boat was slightly deeper [3-4 ft]and thats where the crappies were. Sounds like great weather for the weekend so be sure and get out fishing and pick up some Mini-Mites and waxies from HOF and you will be all set for FISH ON!
    Thanks, Bill

Some dummy has forgotten the camera the past few times. Can’t imagine who that would be. And its not Nate. I’d say 8 1/2 – 9” for the best ones. Didn’t get as many big ones as usual this time. But was nice to see some crappies mixed in real close. I plan to spend alot of my time down there this year. We want to grow the forum and introduce people to the fishing opportunities that there are around here.
    Thanks, Bill
