Hey Eric, have you ever heard the saying ”what can go wrong will go wrong”? Well….it has. Nate has both his vehicles down. His Mazda has a front axle broke and they are trying to find one more part for it. His tranny went out on his Blazer so he bought a used tranny and its on the blink also so he has another one bought but not put in yet. Also the bolt that holds the fan blade on the Blazer broke so he needs a new blade and waiting for that. I had to put almost 1300.00 into my van and a muffler, half shaft on my front axle and 2 tires that were worn weird from the front axle problem on the Geo. All were unexpected expense that I can’t afford right now so I’m pinching pennies at the moment and until Nate gets both of his vehicles back on the road he doesn’t want to spend any money fishing bass tournaments as hes got alot of unexpected expense with both vehicles so we are waiting til he gets his vehicles back on the road. Sooner or later we will be doing them he says. So until we get there we are giving up our last place finishes to Bradley. Enjoy Brad.
    Thanks, Bill

Only two? Does that mean only you and your partner and you guys win? I know, two boats BUT I couldn’t resist.

i brought this up over the winter to Brad Gravendork and Eron and i will bring it into the light of the rest of you. Any chance when the Tourneys get switched to mornings in September that they could be Saturday mornings instead of Sunday. i think there would be a better showing. I figure we better start talking about this now because the way of the Norwegian midwest is SLOW and lots of talk. thanks ike

That is something you will have to remind me of after the weigh in one night. I will ask a few of the elders and see what they think. I could really care less but sometimes old habits are hard to break for some.

6-20-06 Lake Zumbro bass tourney results

1st Chad drews and daughter 10-03

    2nd Jay Hodge 9-08

3rd Dean Johnston and partner 8-10

Big bass Jerrie Eckholt and partner 4-01

There was 15 boats entered. Maybe half had a limit of 5 bass. The better bags had mostly largemouth. The winner was fishing a tube. Rip- rap sand bank.

I had a request to talk about how the tourney goes and all the details.

To all interested, this tourney is open to all. $20 per boat. 2 people may fish per boat. You may have more people/kids in the boat though. 5 bass limit. 12″ minimum length. Largemouth or smallmouth. Fisherman’s Inn on lake Zumbro every tuesday at 5pm for now. Tourney gets over at 9pm for now. Both times will be adjusted as the days shorten. Be in the water and ready to go by the start time. Upon arrival you will need to ask someone who to pay your $20 to. We collect it before take off. The previous weeks winner holds the money. You should have a good working livewell capable of keeping 5 bass alive until weigh in. Make shifts are allowed as long as they work well. We release the fish afterwards. You can pull your boat out at the end of the night as long as your livewell can keep the fish well until you are weighed. Let someone know if you are having a problem with that and we will accomadate if possible.
This is a low stress FUN tourney.

My pattern has fell apart. I need to come up with a new pattern and a way to keep brad from fishing places he sees me fish.

You know I am kidding Brad. Like you said, when you get 15 boats out there the lake tends to see to get small all of a sudden.

    2nd Eric Ronningen & Jim Kostroski 9-14

Finally had a 5 pounder pulled in. Many bass and northern caught tonight. The big bass was caught on a tube in 18 fow. I don’t know what the winners caught the rest of their fish on but we caught all of our fish on flipping jigs(mid depth), tubes, and spinner baits.

by the way, their was 12 boats in the tourney. Anyone should feel free to come out and fish. We are still taking off from Fisherman’s inn at 5 pm. Weigh was at 9pm again tonight. Weigh in and take off times are subject to change as the daylight changes. $20 per boat, 2 fishers per boat. 5 bass limit, smallmouth or large mouth at this point.

Well Brad, somebody has to step up and post these results. You are not reliable to asked to do it anymore. I am not proud of second place in a 12 boat tourney but its better than third, especially considering I never PRACTICE for them.
I wouldn’t pick on you but you always start it.

    8/1/2006 Lake Zumbro tournament results.

    1st- Brad Gravenhof and Tim?–11.13
    2nd- Jerry Eckhold and Gene?–9.14
    3rd- Eric Ronningon and Jim?–9.09

    Big Bass– Brad G — 3.6lbs.

    Finally my night!
Started of pretty slow for us,then after a couple areas
with limited success,we found some smallies schooled up
with a few large mouth mixed in. They seemed to be holding
of a ledge in about 10 fow.
There were 12 boats tonight and it sounded like everyone did
    pretty well.
Its a good night when the top three teams come in with a fish over 3lbs.
We even had a little visit from the DNR during weighin.
There were a few new faces there tonight which is great to see.

    Later, Brad G.

Sounds like you guys had some good fishing.

I removed my question — should never asked that on a public forum. Sorry
