With the sun out and warm temps we headed to the zumbro lookin for some crappies and they weren’t to hard to find. We were in 10ft of water with a glow mini-mite and slip cork, they were holding tight to structure so we left a few jigs in the brush but we managed to bring home some nice 11″-13.5″(biggest) slabs for a meal. We caught about 30-40 fish, all being crappies in about 2 1/2 hrs. We kept 12 between 3 of us.I can’t wait for the weather to straighten out so we can get some more fishing in. Good luck to ya’ll I’m headin’ up to Red lake for some walleye’s on Thurs. and hopefully some pike action.

Ron (RHW), Briank, and I hit Zumbro today. We hit a lot of different spots looking for concentrations of fish before finally finding them over some deeper water near the mouth of a bay. Our best presentation was dragging mini-mite jigs straight under the boat about 5 ft., over 5-10 FOW. Both crappies and gills came easily to this presentation, and some were real nice slabs.

Sure was a fun day to be out with a couple good friends and have the fish be so cooperative!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Did Mike forget the camera? Must be rough fishin while the rest of us slave away at work. You bet I’m jealous. But its only one more day of work then its ”fish on” for 4 days. Can hardly wait.
    Thanks, Bill

I guess you didn’t have any time left to post those pics? Be careful not to make Billy too jealous….

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

    Greg,

Good report. Hope you have a blast up on Red. Sounds like the walleyes are going strong up there from what I’ve heard the past couple years. Now you can actually fish for them. That should be a good trip for you. I would say I’m jealous, but I’m heading up to Lac Seul in August for a week with my dad and a small group from his church back home. Really looking forward to it.

    Andy
