Went to Foster today for a few hours and she is producting some nice trout. Caught several, some huge and FINALLY got my three eaters, very nice, between 11 1/2 to 12, perfect for pan frying. Trout for supper tonight.
Lost what I think was one of the brood stock. Played with her for about 15 minutes, had the drag set right. She came up a couple times so I could see her and I honestly believe she went close to 5. She would run then I would pull, but she made one mad dash, and pop went my four pound test line.
Oh well, wouldn’t have kept her anyway. Small jigs tipped with a waxworm. I did discover, two waxies got more strikes then a single.
Stop out at Hooked On Fishing and Mike will point you in the right direction with what is hot now.

Is fosters a creek or river? I am very unfamiliar with the area. I have been catching a few small ones up here in the twin cities. It sounds like you are catching some nice ones. Where is Fosters?

Fosters is a man made lake in ROchester MN.

Its located right off 37th street by the 63 intersection.

Its stocked with trout and offers a good fishing year round for trout and panfish.

There have been some monster trout taken out of this “lake” as well.

Also hooked on fishing is about two minutes right from there so they have everything you would need plus the knowledge to get you started in the right spots

For those of you who don’t know yet Matt [HookNfinger] is HOF’S newest employee. You will find him there on Sundays waiting to serve you. Matt grew up in the St. Cloud area, moved to Rochester, and fishes the river and Winne as much as he can. His hobbies are fishing, fishing and more fishing. Ok…maybe alittle hunting too. You will find that he is more than willing to share what he knows and hears about where the hot bite is and what the fish are being caught on. Just be sure NOT to follow his instructions on how to get a hook in your finger. [couldn’t resist that one Matt [aka HookNfinger]
    Thanks, Bill
