Good Fishing fellas. The weekend tourney’s are out for me, but starting Thursday June 8, I’m in. Looking forward to it.

Will be looking forward to you joining in. So far it has been a great time getting together. Thanks for the head start.
Andy
May 11, 2006 at 7:16 pm #445439Going to make a change to the schedule, as it appears that several people prefer to get together in the evening instead of Saturday. So instead of having our next event on Saturday, we will have it on the following Thursday night:
Thursday night May 25th at Lake Zumbro. Leave from the DNR public ramp near Ponderosa Campground at 5:00 p.m.; be back to the ramp no later than 8:30 p.m. Fish will be measured and judged in the parking area.Good Fishing,
MikeMay 22, 2006 at 2:26 pm #448070Well guys, we are close to the third event. This Thursday night at Lake Zumbro. I’d like to start some smack talk but I’m too low in the points to be doing any of that.
So who’s at least planning on attending?
sbr_itPosts: 217May 22, 2006 at 3:32 pm #448091I should be there along with my #1 net man Gabe. Got a plan to hopefully keep me a top the leader board.
Andy
May 22, 2006 at 8:14 pm #448187I will be fishing with 1 other person in our boat. You can add us 2 to the total.
May 22, 2006 at 11:22 pm #448261I think Ron and I will be there. I think Bill was also planning on being there.
Just a side note – I know that a lot of guys may find it difficult to be there by 5 p.m. So, no problem if you cannot be there by 5! You must be back to weigh anything you want entered before 8:30.
Good Fishing,
MikeMay 22, 2006 at 11:24 pm #448262And in the interest of a little smack talk – I fully intend to add 15 points to my total!
Good Fishing,
Mikesbr_itPosts: 217May 23, 2006 at 6:35 pm #448552That must be cause Andys got all the big fish locations at the tip of his fingers. Hes the man to beat and I’m betting he walks away with it all. [are you pumped Mike to prove me wrong?] Hopefully I will be there but will be after take off time so I’m just going to play with different locations to try learn something. A person can never stop learning.
Thanks, BillMay 23, 2006 at 8:22 pm #448611If the weatherman is right, we should be in for a soaker during the day and letting off towards afternoon.

Thanks for putting the jinx on Bill.

May 23, 2006 at 10:47 pm #448635Andy, you can handle it with no problem. Just keep doing what you are doing and the pressure will be on everyone else. [sure glad Mike didn’t hear me say that]
Thanks, BillMay 23, 2006 at 11:28 pm #448642Just back from being out on the road all day, so please pardon my lack of response…..
Yep, it looks like Andy has a comfortable lead right now. Funny how that will dry up by Thursday night around 8:45! If I had to name a darkhorse, don’t forget about mild mannered Ron. He’s just too nice to talk any smack. Won’t be long now!Good Fishing,
MikeMay 24, 2006 at 1:03 pm #448779Mike, thanks for the vote of confidence, but Sea Biscuit I am not. There are a lot of dangerous competitors in this one. It will be close, rest assured. These guys are sharp and not to be under estimated. I lean toward Mike. He has adopted quickly to Lake Zumbro and has learned much in only the last couple years about this fishery. Very suave and organized. That and he has an unfair advantage, he owns a bait shop and spends lots of time talking to his bait about targeting certain fish. The real winner here is the event itself. Forget the final score, it is time spent with a bunch of good guys sharing some laughs and stories.
See you Thursday afternoon gentlemen.May 24, 2006 at 3:18 pm #448835I’m hoping to catch 1 fish. I’m not expecting much in the points department
sbr_itPosts: 217May 25, 2006 at 6:19 pm #449334So far the weather seems to be cooperating. Hope it holds out through the afternoon and evening.
Andy
May 25, 2006 at 6:21 pm #449336Well, it’s coming down to crunch time. Not much smack being tossed around. I just checked the weather channel and it looks like 40-60 percent chance of rain. Winds NW 10-20 m.p.h. Should be interesting eh?

sbr_itPosts: 217May 26, 2006 at 8:31 pm #449594What another great outting. This league has been very fun and a great way to meet new people out there. For those of you who haven’t made it out to one you need to show up.
Thanks Mike for doing all the record keeping.

June 5, 2006 at 2:34 pm #451426So guys, we have the fourth event this Thursday at Chester Woods. How many people plan on coming? I’ve only been there during open water once before and caught some decent pan fish and smaller bass. Any ideas on what baits to bring to target the larger bass? And what about catfish? Is there a good bait to try for the cats?
