The 2006 Rochester Sports & Vacation Show runs January 27th through January 29th. The show is once again located at the Mayo Civic Center.
    Show hours are:
    Friday Jan. 27th – 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Saturday Jan. 28th – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    Sunday January 29th – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hooked On Fishing will be in booth L09 located in the north patio area. This is the same booth we’ve had for the previous 3 years. Look for some great specials again this year!

    Hope to see you there!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

I have a feeling this is going to cost me some money because HOF always has good deals going at the boat show.

I will be at the Walleye Searchers booth Friday night and at the Smitty’s Marine boats area both Sat. and Sunday. Stop by and say hi.

    Thanks, Bill

not to be the party pooper but every party does have a pooper. but i have been to something similiar in the past not in rochester but in the cities and it was 80% boats 5% fishing 5% hunting and 10% who knows what. i don’t vacation much but i love the hunting and fishing. Is this worth my time honestly? just curious. ike

I don’t think that I can reasonably answer your question.
There are lots of boats and campers, lots of resorts, and lots of sales. It is certainly smaller than the big shows in the Twin Cities. There are several good seminars as well. Several thousand people attend each year, but I guess each person needs to decide if it is worth it for themselves.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

I have always gone to it. Its not nearly as big as the big ones in the Twin Cities but I like seeing the new boats and other things. And I don’t have to spend a gas tanks worth of gas to get there and back. It makes for a nice fun day to get out and see whats new and check out whats going on. And besides HOF always has some good deals on fishin stuff.

    Thanks, Bill

Yes it is that time of year again. Although I won’t be able to work the show this year with both Mike’s, I do plan on crawling down there to visit HOF’s booth. I remember the last couple years how excited both Mike’s got getting prepared for the show. Now let’s see, what to bring, what not to bring. I know bring what they will be interested in, then maybe bring somemore just in case. It was fun getting the specials together, reels one year and rods the next. Now what to offer this year. Other then the show specials, it was really nice to be able to meet people so they could see what and where HOF was exactly. Lots of RECENT/LOCAL/FISH TALK available. Please stop in and say Hi to the guys. Can’t miss em, right across from the hot dog stand.

This is a good time to stop by the HOF booth and talk local fishing with Mike. Mike has fished this area all his life. He knows what works and is more than willing to share all he knows. Its a good time to talk to him about the local reserviors too. And if you get tired of getting all this information stop on down to the Smittys Marine area and check out the great new Lund and Alumacraft boats and say hi as I will be there both Saturday and Sunday. [if you find me not there then it means I sneaked away to visit the HOF booth ] Thanks, Bill

Nate says his daughter Makenzie will be the next Smittys Marine Pro Staff person. Between Nate and I and her other grandpa Tim Pater who is part owner of a Resort on Mille Lacs Lake she will be VERY addicted to fishing.
