Thinking of trying it out. From the dnr report it looks like a good walleye, crappie and sunnie lake.

I’ve never fished there, but would like to hear how it goes for you.

I fished an ice contest back in the early 80’s there.I remember it was just a few crappies caught by people that day.I took my boat over this year 5/22.In a couple hours I caught one 8″bass two 10″walleyes and a couple of 8″sunnies.It’s a bowl shaped lake with a lot of water between 20&30ft.One of my friends at work told me he caught a 15lb Tiger Muskie there about two years back.

I’ve fished Beaver a few times over the years – mostly in softwater. Its a bad lake to try to fish in the summer due to the heavy ski boat and jetski traffic. I tend to fish it during the work week and on weekends after Labor Day due to that. Forget about it on summer weekends unless you are there at the crack of dawn.

Basicly its two lakes – the S shoreline is soft bottom and
weedy, while the N shoreline is hard bottom and more rock.

There is a rocky bar/hump on the SW corner of the lake (narrow end) – beware in that area. It has been marked w/ a buoy in the past.

Caught some perch thru the ice a number of years ago – also
bass (open water). It is stocked from time to time w/ walleye. DNR Waterville indicates the tiger muskie are gone now.

Been out there a few times this year. No luck any of the 3 times we were out there. Though the best spot to fish that we have found is in about 20 feet straight out from the fishing pier between 15 and 20 feet. Fished it last year only once at the Ice fishing contest. Was a bad year for the contest, I didn’t see many fish caught, it used to be a good lake in the past from my experience, but this year doesn’t look good, every few days I drive by and rarely see anyone out there. I will say that Clear Lake in Waseca has been producing good Sunnies and some decent walleye. Haven’t had a lot of time to hit the lakes this year, but plan to hit Horseshoe Lake, Tetonka, and Lake Elysian (Walleye are hitting on the north end of the lake) this weekend.
