With the colder temps we have been having this week the question I keep hearing people ask people is: Where are you going ice fishing this weekend? We still will need to be very carefull and its best to stay in areas with shallow water for safety sake but I know many will want to make the first trip out. So, whether it is this weekend or another weekend, where will you venture out to for your first outting on the ice? And what will your game plan be to catch some first-ice fish?
    Thanks, Bill

I’ve already been out twice! Will probably go over toward Wabasha and fish the backwaters. I like to use Ratso’s and work the entire water column. Ice jigs tipped with a waxie are also one of my favorite presentations.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Am waiting for Nate to call me so we can discuss a time that will work for both of us getting out together. Will probably be Fosters as its close and want to check the equipement out to make sure all is working well. Just being out will be alot of fun and some fish would be a bonus. And I want to stay shallow as its early yet for Fosters so if I go through it won’t be over my head. Waist deep is deep enough for me untill ice gets alittle thicker. Just call me ”chicken man” but atleast I’m a live one.
    Thanks, Bill

my memory isn’t worth much anymore Bill, too much time spent babysitting grandson this week, but I just couldn’t resist.

now if the snow tonight and tomorrow doesn’t pile up on the ice too much, maybe we can get out and enjoy.
