I met Mike/HOF about three years ago when I stopped out at his bait shop. He impressed me right away with a great personality and especially his knowledge of panfishing. He not only can talk the talk, but after having fished with him now on a regular basis all season for three seasons, yep he can walk the walk. It is funny how we have compared stories from the past 35 some years, only to find out we were both in the same areas, probably at the same time. Just neve introduced ourselves. So next time you are out fishing, take time to smile and say hello to someone. You never know, they may end up your best fishing buddy.
Bill is right, Mike/HOF has it all at the shop. If you can’t find it there, well chances are you might not need it.
I exclusively get all my fishing gear there, rods, reels, line, lures, jigs, bait and those little do dads. Those interested in getting started, I strongly suggest they stop out and talk to both Mike’s. They are straight shooters and will not steer you wrong. Those of you who follow IDA and have read his posts, you soon realize Mike/HOF is great teacher, willing to share what he knows.
Every Thursday he posts an area in depth fishing report which many have utilized in making plans. A service not many others offer.
Now Mike, if we could just get you to make a coffee/donut shop in one of the corners so us grumpy old men could get together and tell lies to each other about how good we are at catching fish.

I suppose we could kick out Mr. Fischer and install a popcorn machine, hotdog grill, and pastry bar. The coffee is on!

    Good Fishing,

Is there anyway a card table could be set up in the area between Mike Fischer and the leeches/bathroom area? Or over in the corner back by the aqaureaum [sp]? It would require some serious thinking of where to put the items for sale in that area [which ever one would be chosen] but would provide a place to sit and chat about fishing. We could bring our fishing magazinmes after we have read them and leave them there for reading material. ”A fishing hangout in Rochester.” Only problem is Mike/HOF would never get any work done as he would be sitting around talkin fishin even more.

    Thanks, Bill

    What do you think Bud?

Well the “Boss” was on a minnow run and no card table or donuts yet. So had to have a rod fixed and get some supplies. Next thing you know I’m out the door with a new carbon rod. I just love xmas shopping for myself.

Aren’t those carbon ice rods great!
I got the minnows and some real nice shiners. I ate the donuts (just trying to do everyone a favor), and the card table needs to still happen…..

    Good Fishing,
    Mike
