Yep, ready to ice fish for pannies. Put all my open water equipment away. Dumped out my ice bucket three times and sorted through it. Picked out my favorite jigs and retied so I am sure. Jig box has been carefully rearranged for quick high per centage picks. My Lazer auger is razor sharp and one could shave with it. My winter clothes/boots have been examined and laid out. Gotta be comfortable in the elements ya know. The brand new MarCum LX3 three color flasher is charged red hot, when you get within three feet of it, you can feel the static electricity. OK, me and the equipment are ready to go. Now where and when?
I just bet a guy could put foot on ice probably by Wednesday at Wilcox. Kidding all aside, lots of us are anxious, but please use some common sense and be carefull. The biggest Bluegill or Crappie is not worth one’s life.
Only thing I need now is a fresh container of waxies from HOF.

Briank, you left out the baked potatoe, smoothered in a pound of butter and half a pound of salt and pepper. Then hot dinner rolls, another half pound of butter and a crisp salid floating in one’s favorite high cholestrerol salid dressing. Ah, a dinner fit for a king.

Looked high and low but with this 40 degree temp can’t find ice. It was suppose to be cold now so volunteered to be watched by my 5 year old grandson this weekend. Warm weather makes me wish I was on Lake Zumbro fishing with the jon boat. I did leave 1 1/2 days open for myself out of 4 days off next weekend but suppose it will be too cold for open water and no ice with my luck. Might have to fish Foster Arends for trout instead then. Time will tell. Still have some of my open water stuff to sort and put away. Then I can dig out the ice toys and get them ready. Jon boat will still be in the driveway for emergencies in case of warm weather. lol. Sounds like an Ice Fishing Show in St. Paul the first weekend in Dec. for another option coming up. It is getting to be the period of ”between seasons” so its hard to get out of one and into the other when the weather keeps going back and forth. Just have to be ready for both I guess. Thanksgiving is soon here and then December which will mean the wait for ice will be very hard for alot of people. Interest will soar, it will be time to get all the needed ice goodies for your ice fishing adventures if you haven’t already. Time to sharpen those jigs, replace the hook supply and stock up on waxies. Time for a new rod or two for ice fishing? Might need some new reels and line too. HOF has what you need and want. Great prices too.

    Thanks, Bill

With these cold days and nights Bud the ice making should pick up steam. But they are talking about some rain Sunday which will melt some snow along with a couple warmer days but then after that they say highs below freezing which will make ice for sure. Won’t be too much longer at the rate.
    Thanks, Bill
