There are some Northerns in there that don’t get much pressure that could easily be in the 20 lb plus weight class by now.
Stopped out to HOF yesterday [Saturday] and found RHW in there talkin fishin with Mike Smith. Of course thats a very easy topic to join in on. Ron [RHW] just happened to have his new Marcom LX3 in his car so he brought it in and showed us. Very sharp looking ice fishing unit. Has alot of nice features. Mike and I are Vexilar guys so he pointed out just why he went with the Marcom. I do have a Marcom underwater camera and a handheld depth locator so know ”alittle” about Marcom. It will be interesting to compare the Vexilar next to the Marcom on the ice this winter. Mike and I have the Vex FL8 units, not the FL18 units, so Ron’s Marcom will have the newer options that ours won’t have but will still be fun to compare.
Mike at HOF has ALOT of ice fishing goodies out in his store for everyones ice fishing outtings. Sometimes people forget about the Bait and Tackle stores when its time to replace lost or worn out equipement or just want some new toys. But if we don’t give them our business they won’t be there when we want bait, fishing reports, and good advice from someone who spends alot of time fishing the areas bodies of water so he knows whats biting on what and carries what works in our area and not just stuff thats in catalogs and advertised on TV shows that may not be what the fish bite on in our area. Need a new rod? How about a new Custom St. Croix rod of your choice? HOF makes these fine quality rods with hand picked St. Croix blanks. Great sensitive rods too.
Hooked On Fishing Bait and Tackle [HOF] is located on Highway #63 North [north Broadway turns into hwy 63] past Shopko about 1 1/2 miles. Its a bright blue building so easy to see and on the right side. And about a mile when going the route by the trailerhouse park from Foster Arends Lake. Its also on your way to Lake City and on your way to Red Wing too. Perfect location for your fishing needs. Stop out and say Hi to Mike and talk fishin all you want.
Thanks, Bill
