Mike [HOF] Smith and I spent some time on Lake Zumbro today doing some multispieces fishing and found that the fish are more scattered but will bite if the presentation is slow enough. We again were using Mini-Mites tipped with a waxie and as usual when taking the bait out of the fishes mouth they would pass up the waxie to try hang on to the tail of the Mini-Mite. That tail is just so lively they act like they have to have it. The fish are on the bottom and occassionally maybe one foot off the bottom will catch them but in most cases you have to be on the bottom to catch them. After the first tap [ist tap of two] you must set the hook right away in order to catch them. If you wait until the second tap its too late and you will miss them. Fish caught were bluegill, some bullgills, couple of crappies and lots of strippers. It was a great day to be on the water with warm temps, some sun, and if you stayed out of the wind it was warm. Be sure and stop out to HOF and pick up some Mini-Mites and waxies on your way out to the lake. And be sure and let us know how you do.
Thanks, Bill
