Lake Zumbro: Very nice bluegills and crappies are still biting, and nice sized white bass have been more numerous recently. A small jig tipped with a waxie is working well for gills and crappies. Minnows are also producing crappies. Fish have been active between 5-24 ft., you will need to experiment with depths but they have mostly been deep near the bottom recently.

Foster Arends Lake: Fish have moved shallower. They are being caught on minnows, power bait, waxies, or worms. When trout are feeding on the surface, flies may be worth a try on the surface. Flash type lures are starting to produce some fish.

Chester Woods: Producing some very nice bluegills and crappies around submerged wood. The largest bluegills have been suspended over deep water. Crappie are biting better toward evening.

Willow Creek: Producing some nice bluegills and bass. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.

Country Club pits: Producing some nice bluegills, crappies, and bass. Try small jigs, minnows or worms.

Game Haven: Producing bluegills, crappies and bass. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.

Mississippi River backwaters: Some of the traditional areas like Wilcox, West Newton, the Finger Lakes, and the Dike Road are producing nice bluegills, crappies, bass, and northern. Small jigs, minnows, waxies or worms will work. Crappies are biting well in some areas along the shoreline of Lake Pepin.

Thats right RHW. Briank is taking us over to the dark side [catin at night he says] sometime next year so we may to to practice up so he doesn’t kick our behinds too bad. Course if he does I guess Mike and I are big enough to throw him overboard, , to the kitties.
    Thanks, Bill

Yes, I suspect Brian would make a very good stink bait! Maybe that is another one I’ll need to carry….

    Good Fishing,

Rumor has it, and report with pic for proof by Catfishgirl on General Discussion Form, that Briank has traded his catin life style for a life of bass fishin. Wonder how many bass he will catch on his new stink bait?

    Thanks, Bill

    [just couldn’t resist Bud ]

ummm…. Mike? I think you went fishing today with “hah” a pile of stink bait…

Although I’m tucking the boat in tomorrow…I’m gearing up for next year…which, if it’s half as good as this year…I’ll be a happy man!

I’m looking forward to getting you two….out in the boat next year. With a little luck we can get a picture or two. Remember the golden rule of cat fishing…never swat at ‘skeeters when you have a 10/0 hook in your hand!

Briank, are you trying to tell us that we shouldn’t swat the skeeters on you with a circle 10/0 hook in our hands? Don’t you think you would look cute with a circle 10/0 hook for an earring on each side? Another question we have is : what are you up too? You want to take us catin when its dark outside. Why in the dark? So we don’t see your buddy put the big cats on our hooks??? The In-Fishermen guys always catch their big cats in the ”daylight” on TV, video tapes and DVDs so why can’t you? I smell something rotten here and its not the stinkbait, and its not the ”pile of stinkbait that Mike went fishing with Saturday [me], so what no good are you up to?

    Thanks , Bill

ps. Still 50s and 60s next week so time for you to untuck the boat and get it back out.
