Lake Zumbro: Nice bluegills and crappies are still biting. Smaller stripers are just thick in some areas and will hit your bait before you can get it to other fish. A small jig tipped with a waxie or piece of nightcrawler, or a small hook with bait is working well for gills and crappies. Minnows are also producing crappies. Fish have been active between 3-20 ft., you will need to experiment with depths. As the water temp continues to cool, the fishing should only get better!

Foster Arends Lake: Fish are starting to move up higher in the water again. Try using powerbait, minnows, waxies, or worms. When trout are feeding on the surface, flies may be worth a try on the surface. As the fish come up shallower, flash type lures will also start to work.

Chester Woods: Producing some very nice bluegills and crappies around submerged wood. The largest bluegills have been suspended over deep water.

Willow Creek: Producing some nice bluegills and bass. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work. Try setting your bait 4-10 ft. deep for the bluegills.

Country Club pits: Producing some panfish and bass. Try small jigs, minnows or worms.

Game Haven: Producing bluegills, crappies and bass. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.

Mississippi River backwaters: Some of the traditional areas like Wilcox, West Newton, the Finger Lakes, and the Dike Road are producing nice bluegills, crappies, bass, and northern. Small jigs, minnows, waxies or worms will work. Crappies are biting well in some areas along the shoreline of Lake Pepin.

Thanks Mike. Come on weekend!!! Mike and I will be out Saturday pestering the bullgills and crappies on Lake Zumbro. If you are out stop and say hi.

Welcome to IDA Big Al and Jason. Are you guys going to be out fishin this weekend?

Weather wise they are talking upper 60’s and sunny for the weekend and with reports of some good fall fishing on many of the waters in the Rochester area it looks like a great weekend to be on the water. Be sure and stop by HOF for all your fall fishin goodies and bait. We all need to remember to shop the smaller stores/Bait shops so they stay in business. No other store cares more about their customers and goes out of their way to help us catch fish with both ”the areas hot fish catchin tackle” and ”up to date fishin reports every week” like Hooked On Fishing does. We would all be lost without these services from Mike at HOF. Thanks Bud. Very much appreciated. And Thanks to James Holst for providing us with this great fishin website where we ALL can share, post, reply and learn more about fishin.

    Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

    Thanks, Bill

ps. And don’t forget to post and let us all know how you did over the weekend. We ALL learn from each others sharing.
