Started off a fizzle, ended with a bang.

Mike/HOF and I went to Lake Pepin again today, but it was not as good as our last trip. With the howling winds and 2 foot waves, the bite was slight and they just wouldn’t hang on long enough for a hook set. Frustrated we ended up driving down to the dike road. Bang, Bang, Bang, one as fast as you could get it in. The majority were small, but managed to get a nice meal of decent sized fish. Two feet below the bobber with untipped mini-mites clobbered them. Again we both agreed that we are spoiled catching 9 inch bluegills, so several we tossed back, normally might have been kept. Color did not matter today. They were hungry.

It was another fun day! Just goes to show that the fish are biting well at a number of different locations.
Sure beats watching the Vikings lose.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

How come you guys have soooooooooo muchhhhhhhhhhhhh funnnnnnnnnnnn when I’m gone? Maybe you are trying to tell me something like forget the eyes and stay with the gill/crappies when the bite is hot. ORRRRRRRR ??? Great to see you guys are having so much fun. Not often when Mike gets the whole weekend off and RHW even has that weekend off too. And throw in a hot fishing bite [if you aren’t looking for eyes that is] you have great timing for a great fish catchin weekend.
    Thanks, Bill

Yes, maybe you ought to stick a little closer to home until those walleyes decide to bite like it’s fall! With the cooler weather coming, I’m sure the walleyes will get into gear – but guess what – the panfish will just continue to keep right on biting!

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

AND of course if you aren’t at work we all will know where to find you I bet. Have a great fall guys. Too bad the guys that put away the boat for hunting will miss the great panfish bite on Lake Zumbro or their own favorite body of water. When people ask me if I hunt I say ”sure do, I hunt for fish!”

    Thanks, Bill

After the Walleye Searchers tourney this weekend you know where you will find me fishing the following weekend.

    Thanks, Bill
