Lake Zumbro Ramps

I am planning to fish Lake Zumbro more now that the walleye bite has slowed on the Mississippi (at least for me).

I usually fish on weekdays in the morning and was wondering about pro/cons of the various ramps. I live in Rochester, so I would prefer the closer ramps.

I believe there are at least 4 ramps (maybe more):

    1. Ramp by dam, free & nice but furthest from Rochester

    2. Ramp by Sandy point, free but appears to be very shallow and should I be concerned about leaving a vehicle and trailer there?

    3. Ramp by Fisherman’s Inn, never used this one, how much does it cost and can you buy a season’s pass?

    4. There is a marina just across the lake from Fisherman’s Inn (King’s something?) can the public launch there and how much does it cost?

    Thanks

The one at Sandy point is shallow. I would avoid that one for that reason.
The one at Fishermans Inn is $3.00 during the week and you could buy a season pass. I’m not real sure how many people actually pay the launch fee.
I don’t know much about Kings Marina.

    Hi Dave,

I prefer the ramp by the campground. It is a good ramp and is free. Probably about 7 miles further than Sandy Point is all.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Dave, the Ponderosa ramp is 12 1/2 miles from my house going up north on hwy #52 way. Its a decent concrete ramp and has concrete parking lot and its free.
    Thanks, Bill
