Lake Zumbro: Fishing has been a little slow, but maybe the cooler weather will help get the fish biting better. The bigger crappies and bluegills are being caught mostly from deeper water. Crappie minnows, waxies or worms, and small jigs will work. There are also some nice sized northerns being caught, and a few muskies. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are also being caught. Catfish are also being caught on nightcrawlers and prepared catfish baits.

Foster Arends Lake: Some trout are being caught, along with small bass and a few panfish. Low light times seem to be best, and the fish have been deeper. Most people have been fishing powerbait on the bottom, but a variety of other bait is being used including minnows, waxies, and flash type lures.

Chester Woods: Nice bluegills and some crappies are being caught. Look around submerged wood. Largemouth bass and some big catfish are also being caught. Low light periods are best for crappie.

Willow Creek: Producing some nice bluegills and some crappies. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work. Fish around 6-10 ft. deep.

Country Club pits: Producing some nice sunfish, crappies and bass. Evenings seem to produce the best fishing. Try small jigs, minnows or worms.

Game Haven: Producing bluegills, crappie, and bass. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.

Mississippi River backwaters: Some of the traditional areas like West Newton, Wilcox, The Dike Road, and Finger Lakes are producing nice crappies, bluegills, bass, and northern. Small jigs, minnows, waxies or worms will work. Some northerns and bass are also being caught on sucker minnows or larger spoons. The white bass are starting to show activity on the surface in a few areas.

Thanks for the fishing reports/current info Bud. This is certainly the place to do business at. Mike carries the ”tried and true tackle that works.” And I’m going to spill the beans here, so to speak, just to show you how much Mike really cares about helping others to catch fish and enjoy their time on the water-Mike donated over 1400.00 of tackle to the ARM BB/BS Day that took place last Friday at Everts Resort on pool 4 of the Mississippi River. We had over 40 big/little pairs of people that people [staff and viewers] took out fishing that day. ”Thanks Mike.” And ”Thanks” to all who took part in making this a day these kids will never forget.
    Thanks, Bill

Got a mini fishing report to share……went out Panfishing on the river yesterday (Wed) afternoon (it doesn’t happen often, so take it for what it’s worth). We found bundles of fish willing to bite everywhere we went….. but the weeds/wood combos were holding nothing but itty bitty fish……it wasn’t until we moved to fish some “large man made concrete structure” () over deeper water (10-15′) that we started really bangin some bigger ones….could have had a real nice mess of sunnies and even a couple decent crappies.

My buddy was fishing a worm on a hook below a bobber and I was just using a little jig and worm combo……The bait had to be right next to the “structure” to get bit, but if you put it there, you would always hook up.

It was fun for a while

We fished wing dams between Winona and the dam yesterday. Alot of huge sunnies on wing dams. Picked up a few smallies, 1 real decent largemouth, nothing for eyes though. Kept enough sunnies for a meal. Had new potatoes, broccli, and cole slaw out of the garden with them. What a meal. Good luck
