Spent part of the afternoon putting some time in on my jon boat motor to get it broke in more. Weather was great. The late afternoon and evening was spent fishing. The fish weren’t jumping in the boat but did catch some crappies in the approx. 10” range and some small sunnys.

Ran in to Mike Smith [HOF] of Hooked On Fishing Bait and Tackle [must of been playing hooky from work] and Ron [RHW] along with John Weiss of the Post Bulletin. They were catching bass and panfish.[sorry such a dark pic]

Heres Ron [RHW] with a stripper [whitebass] that he caught. The rod he was using really caught my eye. Its a 9 foot long custom made rod from Hooked On Fishing that could cast a country mile. Great rod for casting panfish jigs with a bobber.

Method used to catch fish for this day was a jig and plastic under a bobber. Sometimes I would add a small piece of nightcrawler to the jig to spice things up alittle bit. A very relaxing way to fish on a great sunny day.
    Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill, Didn’t see ya out there!
The brother-in-law and I were out this evening also.
They didn’t jump in my boat either, but I did pick up 1 striper, 1 nice crappie, and 4 little bass.
By the way the brother-in-law got skunked.
I have not had that great of luck with the bass out there this year. don’t know were they are.
What has worked in the past isn’t workin for me.
Can’t be to upset though it was beautiful tonight!!

By the way, ya might have to keep your eyes out for a newer Skeeter After Saturday!!!!!!

    Brad’s getting a new skeeter…….SWEET !!!!

So, will it be coming with rod holders and a kicker motor, or you gonna add those on yourself?

P.S. We waxed some pretty nice smallies tonight on 5A….maybe you should bring the new boat down and we could try to find a few stumps or sandbars to run ‘er up on

I drove by you guys but you didn’t turn my way. I was in my little 14 ft jon boat with a 9.9 Johnson motor. What color skeeter are you getting? Bass or walleye boat?

    Thanks, Bill

ps. Are you still married? I see you are out to Lake Zumbro about every night. Wife must be working 2nd shift or you have been bribing her?

You see Brad out there almost every night? Thats interesting. I would expect a little more out of you on Tuesday night Brad if you’re getting all that practice.

Last night was slow. We ended up with a couple dozen fish total in a mixed bag – sheephead, sucker, northern, bass, bluegills, crappie. The crappies are done spawning, but the bluegills have not spawned yet. Please return the big females (with swollen bellies) back so they can spawn.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike

Where’s the best place to put the boat in up there? I put in at the Fishermans in today and kind of stayed in that area. All I got were a few Bullheads and a couple of sunnys.

You can put in at Ponderosa. It has a nice public ramp. It’s on the other end of the lake than Fishermen’s Inn is on.
