Zumbro River through Oxbow Park

Went out to try my hand fishing at Oxbow Park (just outside of Byron)today. I didn’t have any luck, but did notice some significant differences along the river. In several different places rip rap has been added to prevent erosion. To add the rock some of the vegetation had to be cleared making water access a bit easier. I’m uncertain of the effect this will have on the smallies, but I would think in the long run this should be an improvement.
