Ashley and I went to chester woods today. It was realy windy. We tried accross from the beach first but no luck. Then we moved into the main channel that wasn’t as windy running north to south. We went into a small shallow area and ashley caught her first good size bass We then moved further to the north into a small shallow area on the side and caught some realy nice bluegill. Another guy with a small fiberglass one man boat was leaving and gave us his 2 fish because he didn’t want to clean only 2 fish. He started to leave when I heard him yell for help!!! We pulled anchor and went to see what was wrong. He had floated over a good sized branch just under the water got hung up on it. When he rocked the boat to try to free it it punched thru the fiberglass and started to fill the boat with water He jumped in out boat and we got the boat free. We tied his boat next to ours and he bailed it the whole way as we headed to the dock. Poor guy, Talk about a tough day of fishing!!!!!!!!! I had best luck today with good old crawlers. I tried parts of leeches, waxies and minnow but didn’t have any luck with them. Troy Pike

Thanks for the report Troy. Sorry to hear about your new friends boat problem [ouch]. Hope he can get it fixed and get back on the water.
    Thanks, Bill

I’ve been hearing some good reports about Chester Woods – mostly nice bluegills. Sure makes you wonder where they were in the winter because ice fishing was not very good there this past season.
Glad to hear you where able to help out a fellow fisherman in need Troy and Ashley.

    Good Fishing,
    Mike
