The weather today reminded me of ice fishing. I thought I would get out for a couple hours looking for crappies over in the backwaters. I got snowed on for the better part of 3 hours!
The good news is that there are crappies willing to bite in a few places. With the cold today, minnows on a plain hook fished slowly under a bobber worked best. I suspect that as the water warms, these fish will get much more active.
Even though I got a little cold today, I am encouraged that some of the best fishing of the year is just around the corner!
Good Fishing,
Mike
