Lake Zumbro: Some nice crappies and bluegills are being caught. The shorelines with steep drops seem to be the best areas, but submerged wood is also producing some fish. The fish will be at varying depths, so you will need to do some work to figure out where they are at on any particular day. As the water warms up, they will tend to be shallow much of the time. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.
Foster Arends Lake: Some very nice trout are still being caught. A variety of bait is being used, including minnows, waxies, power bait, and flash type lures. Small panfish are also being caught.
Chester Woods: Still been slow, but the fish being caught are nice size.
Willow Creek: Producing some nice bluegills, usually a little deeper water. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.
Country Club pits: A little on the slow side, but producing some sunfish and crappies.
Game Haven: Producing quite a few fish at times, although they tend to be on the small side. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.
Mississippi River backwaters: The traditional areas like West Newton, Wilcox, The Dike Road, Finger Lakes, some of the harbors will all have fish at times in the spring. There are some crappies being caught, but you will need to work for them. Small jigs, crappie minnows, waxies or worms will work.
