    Rendezvous II
    Southeast MN Fly Fishing Conclave

    Sponsored by Hiawatha Chapter of Trout Unlimited with the support of Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center

    Saturday 04/30

    9:00AM-10:00AM – DNR electroshocking demonstration at Bucksnort Dam on Trout Run.
    10:00AM-5:30PM – Participants will fish area streams. We encourage harvest of fish < 12 inches out of Trout Run and Gribben Creek for our evening fish fry.

    Bring your un-dressed catch to Eagle Bluff by 4:00 PM to have our staff fillet your fish for the evening fish fry at 6:00 PM.

    6:00PM-7:00PM – Dinner provided by Hiawatha ChapterTU at Eagle Bluff ($6 per person). Dinner includes brats, potato salad, baked beans, chips, soda & fish fry.

    Multiple Fly Rod Raffle and Silent Auction commence at 6:00 PM. All proceeds applied to the 2005 Habitat Improvement Project on Trout Run.

    7:00PM-7:30PM – Jason Moeckel of the DNR will provide an update on new trout management in the SE MN.

    8:30PM – Rod Raffle Drawing & Conclude the Silent Auction.

    7:30AM-8:30AM – Breakfast provided by Eagle Bluff for $6 (Make your reservation with Sheila (507-467-2437)

    8:30AM-11:30AM – Fly Tying with the Pros!
    Bring your tools and materials and tie with some of the areas premier fly tiers.

    New Fly Rod & Casting Demo -‘Complete’ Fly Tying Outfit Raffle opens

    11:30AM – Draw the Fly Tying Outfit Raffle Winner

    Conclave wrap-up

    Lodging is available at Eagle Bluff ELC
    * $25 per person (2-person minimum)
    * Check-in 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM 4/29 and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM 4/30.

    Here are some more comments from D.A.:
    Based upon the feedback I’ve received, the fly fishing rendezvous is showing good numbers. Next year, from what I’m hearing, the annual Hiawatha banquet which is normally held in Rochester at the Radisson, may well be held the same weekend – rendezvous, and raising money to benefit the resource that all trout anglers use, all in the same weekend. Sounds like fun.

    Since all proceeds from the TU event go into stream rehabilitation that all anglers reep the benefits from, I’m sure that Trout Day will do the same.
