Lake Pepin Is Opening Up

    Both ramps are now open in Lake City for those wanting to fish the main lake. It looked like the lake was open clear down to maybe Maple Springs from what I could see from the south Lake City ramp area on my way back from Red Wing to night. Saturday there was alot of ice around the south ramp area in Lake City so that shows you how fast the ice is disappearing.

    Gotta love that feeling when I see the ice off of Lake Pepin. Gets me so excited that spring is here and winter is gone. Makes me feel alive again.

    ps. The docks aren’t in yet but the open water sure is in. Lots of floating wood so be carefull. But LOTS of FUN to be out on the water.

    Heard a rumor that Pepin is now completely open. Anybody have any info to back this rumor up?

    With this high water, there is NO ice left ANYWHERE on the river

    yup jakes rite. i live a mile from the lake. all of the backwaters are ice free also. the rising water really helped the ice break up and float downstream
