Sliver Creek Reservior Decision Delayed

After a lengthly discussion the Township Board tabled the issue until the next meeting a month away. They are in a no win situation because the landowners don’t want people there throwing their garbage on the land and/or trespassing and yet the anglers want a parking lot and access to the water.

This is another very good reason why we anglers must not litter, why we should pick up in litter when we see and put it in a plastic sack that we can and should carry with us and be sure to respect landowners right and land. This effort to have access could go down hill because a few anglers were trespassing and littering.
    Thanks, Bill

Yep, no win is a good way to put it. I think the lesser of 2 evils for them will be to open it to the public, build a parking area and put up some trash containers. I suppose that if I was one of the landowners, I would not want a change to the old situation, but I think things are going to change regardless of the upcoming decision – things have already changed. In my opinion, the decision to open this up is a decision to work toward the best solution for everyone.

    Good Fishing,

Seeing decisions like this make a guy a little more concerned over their actions around the water. Always remember to make the area cleaner then when you got there. Even more so now that the sportmens actions are at the forefront of all access and control concerns. I know I always try to make things cleaner and do my part, but we all need to do more.

Unfortunately a no decission could keep on going no decission if they want to avoid it. Thats a way sometimes used to avoid something. Maybe when we get rid of this snow maybe we could get a bunch of guys to go out there and pick up the trash. Of cousre getting permission first to do so as we would have to be on landowners property to do it.
    Thanks, Bill
