Spring Is Getting Closer!

Its March, which means we are past Jan and Feb, and getting closer to Spring. Time to get out the open water toys and look everything over and see what lures, line, jigs, B-Fish-N Plastics, crankbaits and best of all-see what new rods and reels we need for the upcoming open water fishing season. I have a bunch of new line I have bought over the winter from HOF to put on my reels. This is a great time to check out Hooked On Fishing in Rochester [they ship goodies too] for Custom Made St. Croix Rods and Okuma Reels. Mike can make you a St. Croix rod to your specs and needs and has both spinning and baitcaster reels in the Okuma line to pick from. Knowing Mike as well as I do I am assuming that he has a big inventory about now to choose from. Mike, if you see this, please fill in as I hope I haven’t put you in a spot here if Spring isn’t in your mind about now too. With it being March and with all the bright sunshine we had today I can’t help but get excited. Are you ready for spring with lots of open water toys [needed equipement for open water fishing you can tell the little woman in your life] that everyone can get to catch more fish on this spring? Yes Spring – come on and get here. Out here, We have had 3 days of snow. And everytime it looks like it is going to all go away with 3 or 4 nice days of sun amd warmth – we get dumped with more snow.

I got my rods ordered from HOF. Can’t wait for the mail man to bring them.

Hey, (“needed equipement for open water fishing you can tell the little woman in your life” )I don’t have a “little woman” I can go ask. Thats ok, can’t buy anything more this year anyways – will even have to break one of my rules about respooling all my reels every year and use last years line.

i know i got this stupid little baitmonkey sitting on my shoulder every time i go into a sporting goods store. ill be walken by and heel tap me and point me to some clearance stuff or stuff i want and bam its no stopping him. 50 bucks here 25 there 150 here theres no end. i bet i have spent 500 bucks alreay on fishing stuff and i still havent bought any new rods and only got one reel. its nuts. i hoep the ice melts so i can go fishing instead of buying. i heard that baitmonkeys hibernate in the spring summer but when fall rolls around, his cousin the dekemonkey comes to my house. same story with duckhunting.

Really that is very true. And that monkey becomes even a worse pest when we hear that so and so are catching fish on this lure and that lure ”every week” and of course we just have to have those lures in all the hot colors too. There is no cure my friend. Only thing to do is keep fishin since we have all this fishin stuff. Try look at it this way. Somebodys gotta use all this fishin stuff so it might as well be us. Its a heck of a job but somebody has to do it.
