Me and pikester fished on lake Pepin today saterday Feb 26 with a couple of friends of ours, Scott and his father Leroy Rick from Kellog , who are daily anglers in the area. There was open water only 15 feet from where we fished from a wing dam. The ice was about 10 inches thick. I’m sure glad these guys know the river because I wouldn’t even get close to this without someone who has the experience of these two!!! I caught a 16 1/2 inch walleye and scott caught a nice wood handle custom made fishing pole, and the reel still even worked . If thats not a sight coming out of a hole We also had a few bumps but missed them and caught a couple of rock bass in 30 feet of water We had to climb down a cliff with a rope to get to the fishing area and then back up to the hiway. What people will do to go fishing Troy Pike

Now there’s a catch of the day!!!

The things we do to go ice fishing……

Thanks for the report Troy. Yes the things we do and the money we spend but you know we work hard for it and it gives us something to look forward to doing that we love and enjoy. Fishing becomes a part of us and its a part of us that we can share with others and pass on to our children. Keep enjoying it and sharing it and living it. !
    Thanks, Bill
