MrMuskie/Doug lost his mother this past weekend due to car accident injuries. Bob, age 70 and his wife Shirley, age 67, Doug’s dad and mom were involved in a car accident three weeks ago on Highwy 14 and Highway 42 near Eyota. Apparently a semi blew a stop sign and the Mercer’s vehicle collided with it. Both were banged up and bruised. However, as time progressed Doug’s mom began to feel badly. She was taken to the hospital and the lady passed away Saturday afternoon. Apparently from complications from the earlier injuries. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon at Bethel from between 2 and 4 PM.
Doug at a difficult time like this, words do not provide much consolation. Just remember you and your family are in the prayers and thoughts of your IDA family. Our heart felt condolences.

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss.

A friend once told me to reach as far as I could to God, and if I couldn’t reach that high not to worry, He’ll reach the rest of the way.

Our thoughts are with you and the rest of your family.

Doug I am sorry to hear about this. I shared something with another IDA member last week and I want to share it with you too. Doug, our body is like a set of clothes. The real us is inside, our soul, so when she passed away I want you to please try see it this way. The soul [the real us] lives forever so she did not die, only her body died-the set of clothes that the real her wears. She is with the Lord forever. Stay close to the Lord my friend and you will someday be with her again. The years that you will be away from her may seem like a long time in our minds but compared to eternity it is a vey very short time. You will be with her again. Thats a promise. Only the body dies. She will live forever with the Lord. Your family is in my prayers.
Thanks for sharing this with us, your fishing family.
    Thanks, Bill

Since I am new here, I don’t know everyone yet, but that doesn’t mean I can’t toss a prayer your way. My father passed unexpectedly 5 years ago, so I do understand your loss. I truly believe that God only gives us that which we can handle…so keep your chin up, better days are ahead.

I am sure that ALL feel this way when I say you are more than welcome Bud. After all, thats what a family is for and we ALL are a big fishing family here. Hope to see your Dad registering and sharing and posting soon here with us. Lots of fun and your Dad will need something to do now so why not spend it here with all of us.
    Thanks, Bill
