Has anyone heard if the ‘eyes are starting to be caught around the bass camp area? The wing dams produce in late Feb. on, but I figured with the warmer weather that they may be making an earlier bite this year. I usually make an early trip as well but haven’t been there this winter yet.

I haven’t heard any reports but years ago Nate and I use to troll bottom bouncers upstream in about 24-26 ft of water on the wingdam tips in Feb. There are a bunch of wingdams across from the campground and ramp. Walleye could also be caught along the wall seperating the lock from the river on both sides jigging sonars and northerns were caught by the rocks in the area where the opening to enter the lock area is below the dam.
    Thanks, Bill

Bill, does that landing at Bass Camp stay open all year or does it ice over?

It was iced in a week ago. Used to fish there a lot. Had a 14ft. flat bottom we would slide across the ice to open water. Good luck.

The ramp is out of the current area so it does tend to freeze over like Art said.

Thanks Art for the ramp information.

    Thanks, Bill
