I have heard of a reservoir between Cannon Falls and Randolf (where they dammed the river??)

    Anyone know where this is?

First time poster here, but looking to be a long time reader

Welcome to the site. Great to have you with us. Please feel free to share and post all you want. It is on the west side of Cannon Falls approx. a mile or so west of Hwy 52. The road that takes you out of Cannon Falls across the bridge will take you to it. Below is a link to a thread on the Southern Minnesota Forum abot that body of water.

Happy to be here…possibly going up this weekend and taking my son with me…any maps of the lake, or ways to find the spots? Fish depths, holes, ledges, etc?

If you can, try and find the “pines”. This is on the north side of the lake. You will see some ice houses up there. What happened was a few years back………..a few people dumped their christmas trees in the lake to make some structure for the fish. Well, this is where the crappies and bass hang out, plus some nice eyes…….

Along this “structure” is also a break line, where the depth shoots from 17fow to about 12fow. It has some small inside turns and cuts. If you can get on this, it will generally produce for you.

Problem is, that since the lake is structureless for the “most part” it is hard to show you on a map…….

Shoot me a pm with your email address and let me see what I can conjure up!!!!

BE CAREFULL DRIVING ON THE LAKE!!!!!!!

It is a reservior, so with that said, their is always the chance of the water table dropping below the ice. PLUS there is always a little bit of current in the system. Drive where all the others drive, don’t go exploring on your own!!!!

The lake isn’t that deep on the main part. About 25′ or so in the middle. As you go north (the lake does run east-west), you will come into the channel on the system. This is where it jumps from about 17-20 fow up to about 10-12 fow. This channel cuts in and out, snaking through the system.
