Pikester and I are going to Upper Red Lake Feb 11-12-13 with some friends. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on lures and presentation for crappie? Thanks, Troy Pike

Troy, check out the fishing report forum as Scott Steil likes to fish that lake and does reports when he goes up there. Good luck and have fun Bud. [take you camera, hint hint] lol.

Will be on Red Lake/LOW Feb 11th – 27th guiding. I usually have a pretty good handle on the bite in February. If you are not finding the slabs give me a shout when you are up there.

Bring some glow jigs and a flasher for every person. The glow jigs will get you a few fish, but the flasher will get you the rest.

Thanks for the offer Scott, we may have to take you up on that. It is our first time up there so we’ll take all the leads we can get. Good luck.

I have been up there about 8 times and all we have used are northland ghost grubs with a minnow. Everytime a group of four of us have caught over hundred crappies. Color seems to change by the hour pink next blue and then green. Good Luck

Muskies, I will be on Red all day this Friday, LOW on Saturday, back to Red on Saturday evening and Winni on Sunday.

Same Schedule 18th-21st and 25th-27th of this month. The fishing is starting to really pick up again
